Our Duplex Steel Coil strictly follows ASTM A240/A240M standards, with a microstructure that's roughly 50% austenite and 50% ferrite. This balance gives it both high strength and great corrosion resistance-tensile strength hits 620-800 MPa, way higher than 304 stainless steel, while its pitting resistance equivalent (PREN) is over 30, handling chloride environments like coastal areas or chemical tanks easily.
In seawater immersion tests (per ASTM G48), it shows almost no corrosion after 12 months, lasting 5 times longer than regular austenitic stainless steel in harsh conditions. It's a solid pick for oil and gas pipelines, desalination plants, and offshore structures where durability under pressure matters most.
In terms of surface treatment, we can do pickling and passivation. The surface after pickling fully complies with the ASTM A380 standard, with a roughness Ra below 1.6μm, and the scale and oxide are cleanly treated. Passivation treatment will form a 4-6μm protective film - this has been tested by X-ray fluorescence, which can increase the corrosion resistance by 35%.
We also strictly control the slitting and cutting services: the width error is controlled within ±0.15mm, and the straightness of the steel coil per meter does not exceed 1mm. In this way, when customers take it back to process it into finished products, there will be much less waste and it will be easier to process.
We run 3 specialized duplex steel production lines, using vacuum degassing technology that keeps hydrogen content below 3ppm-this stops hydrogen-induced cracking. Our lab uses optical emission spectrometers (accuracy 0.001%) to check every batch's composition, and we do impact tests at -40℃ (per ASTM E23) to ensure toughness.
With an annual output of 30000 tons, we're one of the few factories in Europe and Asia that can consistently produce Duplex Steel Coil with stable ferrite-austenite ratios. We keep 1000 tons in stock, covering 0.5-6mm thicknesses.
Orders over 30 tons receive a 6% volume discount and free surface treatment. We guarantee that if any coil fails to meet ASTM A240 mechanical standards or shows pitting within 3 years of normal use, we will replace it in full and cover any associated losses caused by delays.
