ASTM A53 90° LR Elbow
Key Details
In piping systems, elbows are used to change the direction of a pipe. Common angles include 45°, 90°, and 180°. Elbows with 60° and other unusual angles may also be used depending on project requirements. Elbows are made from cast iron, stainless steel, alloy steel, malleable iron, carbon steel, non-ferrous metals, and plastics.
Pipeline connection methods include direct welding (the most common), flanged connections, thermal fusion, electric fusion, threaded connections, and socket-type connections. Based on the manufacturing process, elbows can be categorized as welded, stamped, pushed, cast, and butt-welded. Other names include 90-degree elbows and right-angle elbows.
ASTM A53 is one of the most widely used material standards in the oil and gas and other process industries. ASTM A53 Grade B is more popular than other grades.
